Health Guarantee
Health Guarantee for Our Dachshund Puppies
All Dachshund puppies purchased from us come with a comprehensive health guarantee. Within 10 days of bringing your new Dachshund puppy home, you must take them to a licensed veterinarian for an examination. If the vet determines that your puppy is clinically ill or has passed away due to an injury or illness contracted on or before the date of sale, please contact us immediately.
Our Dachshund puppies are 100% guaranteed to be in good health and free from any signs of infection or communicable diseases at the time of adoption. We take pride in the fact that our relationship with you doesn’t end when you take home a Dachshund puppy. As a family of dedicated breeders and experienced Dachshund puppy counselors, we do everything possible to ensure our puppies are healthy. However, certain factors like genetics, exercise, diet, and care can affect a Dachshund’s health. While we can’t guarantee your puppy will never have health issues, we promise to do our best to provide a healthy and happy family member.
Our Replacement Policy
We understand that no puppy can replace another, but we do believe that the company of a new furry friend can help ease the pain. In the unlikely event that your Dachshund puppy passes away within one year of birth due to genetic conditions, or if a licensed veterinarian certifies that your puppy has congenital or hereditary disorders that seriously affect their health, we will replace your puppy with another of equivalent value at no cost to you. The cause of death must be certified by a licensed veterinarian.
What We Need from You:
Nothing makes us happier than knowing we’ve brought a healthy, happy Dachshund puppy into your home. To help us keep your puppy healthy, we ask you to:
- Send us a copy of the vet’s examination report (medical record) within four business days of receiving your Dachshund puppy.
- Your puppy will arrive with up-to-date vaccinations appropriate for their age. Please do not vaccinate them within the first ten days of receiving them.
- While we handle de-worming and vaccinations until the departure date, we ask that you continue regular de-worming and vet exams up to 16 weeks of age or as recommended by your vet.
Exceptions to Our Guarantee:
- We cannot guarantee the disposition, temperament, conformation, size, weight, color, markings, or breeding ability of your Dachshund puppy.
- No replacements will be given if the puppy becomes overweight, as certain breeds, including Dachshunds, are prone to hip dysplasia.
- Failure to provide timely vaccinations or regular veterinary care will void this guarantee.
- This guarantee does not cover any costs associated with spaying or neutering, including undescended testes.
Our Health Check Process:
All of our Dachshund puppies undergo an extensive health check before coming home to you. This exam is conducted by our vet, who completes a Veterinary Health Report covering:
- Cardiovascular, skin, coat, eyes, mouth, teeth, gums, musculoskeletal, respiratory, ears, urogenital, and gastrointestinal health.
This report is recently dated to ensure that the health evaluation is current. We also require that you have your Dachshund puppy examined by a licensed vet within four days of receiving them.
We look forward to helping you welcome a healthy and happy Dachshund puppy into your family!
